I was almost throwing all that shit in fownload garbage, but your video saved it. But the driver provided from the drivers website didn't work. So, at the end, the same driver as yours worked for mine. The usb extension is really crap drvier worked with it. But, plugging the adaptor directly to my laptop made it work. Finally, I could use that adaptor. For the heat issue, it did not happen with me; after around 2 hours of capture. So, I bent it and that did the trick for about 20 seconds and then easycap again. I decided to take it apart and investigate. It had Cold Solders and 2x were actually broken. I also got mine off of eBay and it had the exact same disc and instructions in it and the driver itself is identical to yours. Looks like a Heat Sink will be in mines future as well. I spent an hour 007 the repair work on this thing. I decided to work on it instead. It got here in the mail about 2 hours ago and I just finished installing the drivers you used from your link. It is working, for now anyway.
